The news media and the blogosphere are abuzz with the controversies surrounding George W. Bush's nomination of Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court, on both the left and right side of the political spectrum.

I have only one comment to add to all this: The nomination shows the incredible carelessness with which Bush and his entourage handle the future of the United States. But then, this was already demonstrated years ago when a man who knew his own limitations so well thought that he would be good for our country.
